PSP beats PS3 at PSone games
Superior in almost every way. Here's why
There are four screen modes
By pressing Home and selecting "Settings," you can stretch the PSone image to fill your PSP's screen. Or, if you prefer, you can display it in a vertically-bordered 4:3 display for a better-proportioned game. But it doesn't stop there - you can zoom in on the action and see the game in its correct proportions, only minus the upper and lower extremities. In a game like Crash that had borders in the first place, this mode is ideal as it fills the screen with a normally-proportioned image, losing a negligible amount of screen area at the top and bottom of the display.

The icing on the cake, however, is the "original" display mode. This sends one pixel of the game's image to one pixel of your PSP's. It may leave much of the PSP's outer screen empty, but the image in the center is super-sharp. We like.
