The Target ad that hinted at a $50 PS4 price drop was true after all - starting tomorrow, the base 500 GB PlayStation 4 will cost $350 in the United States. Our friends up north will also receive a cut in price, though it's a bit smaller. Sony has cut $20 (Canadian) from Canada's pricing for a final tag of $430 (again, in Canadian currency).

It will be interesting to see how this impacts the coming holiday season. While PS4 has been dominating in sales worldwide, Xbox One made a big surge during the three-month shopping spree from October to December last year. Now with both consoles priced the same and with each serving up their own various bundles, it's a more even playing field.
