PS4's 4.00 update now lets you see Hidden Trophies

PS4's new 4.00 update adds HDR, folders and quick menus to spruce up your PlayStation gaming experience. However that's not all. If, like myself, you're a fan of chasing virtual accolades, then there's also another barely mentioned feature added with 4.00 that will make you very happy - for the first time, you can choose to view Hidden Trophy information directly on your PS4.

Previously, if you wanted to find the name and description for a Hidden Trophy to work out how to earn it, you had to look it up on a dedicated PlayStation trophy website... and that information was only available once someone in the community had discovered it and uploaded it to the site.

As the above screenshots show, that's now a thing of the past. Simply select the Hidden Trophy from your chosen game's trophy list to enter its individual screen, then activate the 'Show Hidden Information' option by hitting Square to reveal the name and description. If that still isn't enough for you to work out how to earn the trophy, you can hit Options then select 'Search Internet' to see if there's further information online.

The 4.00 update brings a few more trophy-related changes, with the previous Rarity star scale being replaced by a segmented pyramid to show how scarce your silverware is. You can also visit your Profile page then select Games to get an overview for each title, showing your trophy progress and most recent award, as well as highlighting the rarest trophy you've earned so far to secure bragging rights for your collection.
