Sony Computer Entertainment America's CEO, Kaz Hirai, has stated that there will be as many as 15 games ready to launch alongside the PS3 when the console is released in November.
Hirai also affirmed in an article on business news site Bloomberg that developers are now receiving all the final pieces of the kit required to ready their games in time for the PS2 successor's launch - which will be November 17 - and that he "didn't think there would be too much of an issue" in terms of getting the titles finished for day one.
However, while we'll be getting a respectable number of titles to experience when the PS3 debuts - the Xbox 360 launched with around the same amount last November - the games reportedly won't come anywhere close to testing the machine's true capabilities.
Activision CEO Robert Kotick is quoted in the same article as saying that PS3 is "the most sophisticated piece of consumer hardware ever," and that the first generation of PS3 games won't use more than 20% of the console's Cell chip - the new technology that lies at the heart of PS3.
