Project 8 in motion

Tuesday 25 July 2006
Last week we brought you a trailer showing just how Tony Hawk's Project 8 developer Neversoft motion captured a pro skater in action, now we can show the incredible results of the process. We've also nabbed the latest next-gen screens, revealing a little more of what we can expect of the skate game.

This new movie demonstrates the amount of detail that goes in to every trick, with each movement of the skater's feet having an affect on the board.

Neversoft's aiming to make Tony Hawk's Project 8 the most realistic and authentic skateboarding game yet, and has been working hard to improve the feeling of momentum and gravity. The game is due for release for PS2, PS3, Xbox 360, Xbox and PSP in September.

But if you can't wait till then for some pro-skating action, why not go to see Tony Hawk in the flesh. Both Hawk and BMX rider Mat Hoffman will be flying into the UK for the 10th anniversary NASS (National Adventure Sports Show) which will be held at the Birmingham NEC from 29-30 July.

Both will be demonstrating their legendary skills in the Kings of Vert event, along with pro skaters Pete King, Mattias Nylen, Jake Brown, Dave Allen, Jocke Olson, Lee Blackwell and Andy Scott, and BMX riders Simon Tabron, Baz Keep, Zach Shaw and John Parker. Other highlights include a World Freestyle Moto-cross event and the Eastpak Throwndown B-Boy Competition. Click here for more about the event.
