Prince of Persia: Warrior Within

Time can be a right git. You can be stuck in a really boring geography lesson for what seems like hours then look at your watch and find you've only been there for 30 seconds. Gah! Time always catches up with you, and if you've been mucking around with it like the Prince of Persia, the payback's always going to be harsh.

Which indeed it is. By meddling with time he's attracted the attention of a Dahaka - a monster sent to kill him in order to repair the rift in time he's created. And when we rejoin the Prince in Warrior Within, he's been on the run for ten years. Now it's time to fight back. Which means going back in time (doesn't he learn?) and preventing the Empress of Time from creating the Sands of Time in the first place.

So, make with the swords and discover that the Prince is a lot handier this time round. The big difference in Warrior Within is a seriously beefed-up combat engine with an all-new Free-Form Fighting system that enables you to wield two weapons, unleash vicious combos and use the scenery for some seriously lethal attacks. It's a massive improvement on the original's combat and suits the new dark look rather well.

Prince of Persia: Warrior Within is released for PS2, Xbox, Gamecube and PC on 3 December
