Prince of Persia 2 on its way
Ubi Soft's president reveals plans for a second helping of Persian delight
Ubi Soft president Yves Guillemot has confirmed that a sequel to Prince of Persia is in the works. "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is a resounding success for our group," he said in a financial statement. "A sequel to this hit is already being planned with an improved marketing positioning."
We thought Ubi Soft's take on the classic action-puzzler was great but UK sales indicated that the gaming public in general didn't think along the same lines. However, the game has sold two million copies worldwide - hence Guillemot's comments about it being a hit (you certainly wouldn't have got that impression from the UK chart sales). Guillemot didn't reveal anything more other than the game's existence but we'll let you know the details as soon as Ubi Soft announce anything.
Prince of Persia was originally released by at the end of last year on PS2 and (subsequently) PC. The Xbox and Gamecube versions will be on the streets come 20 February - we reckon they're well worth a look.
