Prime Day PC deals 2024: The last offers still available
Prime Day PC deals are officially over, but other retailers have still got what you need.
Prime Day PC deals are supposed to be over, but if you aren't married to Amazon as the source of your next PC, there are some great deals you can still benefit from. Often, the best gaming PC discounts during events like these don't actually come from Amazon anyway, as other retailers have more configurations for better prices. We definitely found that this year, and Newegg, HP, and others are still running their sales.
Prime Day gaming deals were a mixed bag overall this year, but for buying prebuilt gaming PCs, they were pretty great, actually. The pre-built gaming PC market is in a decent place right now if you're up for comparing deals. Some big price fluctuations have leveled out, meaning there's a lot that's good value for money, especially versus buying parts separately to throw together. The best part is probably that there are so many viable components out there right now, so deals are common.
Plenty of entry-level deals remain even after Prime Day has officially ended, though some of the biggest UK deals have withered away. Mainly, it's Amazon's own offers that have disappeared, so we've highlighted the ones still going strong down below. As you might expect, as you start to look at more expensive options the proportional saving also increases, so it's worth seeing what your budget can stretch to when it comes to future-proofing your decision. We've separated this one between the US and UK markets as well, seeing as these large PCs would be a pain to ship across the Atlantic!

Prime Day PC deals: FAQ
When did Prime Day PC deals end?
Prime Day 2.0 in 2024 took place through October 8 and 9. That means you had until midnight in your region on Wednesday to make the most of any deals that were available at Amazon. If you're looking at other retailers, competing sale durations may vary, but they're usually pretty clear about how long a deals event will go on for.
Do you have to be a Prime member to access Prime deals?
Yes, you'll need a Prime Membership to gain access to the more exclusive parts of Amazon's sale, particularly the Prime-exclusive offers. Funnily enough, sometimes for "big deal days" we see only a few of those, and other times we see more. Either way, you don't necessarily have to pay for a subscription if you play your cards right. If you're not an existing Prime member, you'll be able to take advantage of a 30-day free trial closer to the event.
Amazon Prime | 30-day free trial
You will likely need to be a registered Prime member in order to benefit from this year's sale, but there are ways around paying for it. If you sign up for a free 30-day trial today, you'll be covered for the big event. Just be sure to cancel before it renews into a fully paid subscription.
What to expect from Prime Day gaming PC deals in 2024
It may sound silly, but the best gaming PC deals from these big Prime Day events almost always come from the likes of Newegg and Best Buy. Walmart is also known to throw out some good deals, but Newegg in particular is famous for running its own sales events at the same time as Prime Day. That isn't to say Amazon itself won't have good deals, just that it's worth keeping your sights set on broader retailers.
We always see PCs on the entry level of the gaming spec sheet get brought down to more reasonable prices, so if you've got a budget under a grand, there's no reason you won't be able to pick up a decent gaming rig. Here's a closer look at what specs to look for up and down the price range. While parts may vary, try to treat these as a minimum when you shop around.
Budget-friendly gaming PCs
Price: $800-$1,000
GPU: RTX 4060 / AMD Radeon RX 7600 / RTX 3060
CPU: Intel Core i5-12600KF / AMD Ryzen 5 7600 / AMD Ryzen 7 5600
Memory: 16GB of DDR5 / 32GB of DDR4 (aim for DDR5)
Storage: 1TB NVMe SSD
Mid-range value gaming PCs
Price: $1,200 - $2,100
GPU: RTX 4070 / AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT / Intel Arc A770
CPU: Intel Core i5-13600K / Intel Core i7-13700K / AMD Ryzen 5 6700X3D
Memory: 16/32GB of DDR5
Storage: 1-2TB NVMe SSD
Enthusiast gaming PCs
Price: $2,100 and up
(go for no less than these specs for this money)
GPU: RTX 4070 Ti / AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT / RTX 3080
CPU: Intel Core i9-13900K / AMD Ryzen 9 7900
Memory: 32GB of DDR5
Storage: 2TB of NVMe SSD
It's worth noting that if those price ranges seem broad, it's because your mileage can vary depending on the brand of PC, the retailer you buy from, and what components make up each build.
For the entry-level range, you're probably looking at iBuyPower, IPASON, CyberPowerPC, and other smaller brands found on Newegg and Amazon for this sort of deal. These are very worth considering if you're buying your first gaming PC or need to upgrade to newer-gen parts.

Elsewhere, we're likely to see brands like ASUS, Alienware, HP, and Acer pull deals out of the Prime Day hat. These configurations can vary, and we usually see discounts from the mid-range bracket all the way through to expensive high-end monsters.
To sound like a broken record, just keep our gaming PC golden rule in mind. Think about futureproofing, because you don't want to get a year or two down the road and realize you can't make the awesome component upgrade you'd like to because your motherboard is locked into an older generation.
What to expect from Prime Day PC component deals
CPU deals: As we head toward deals season, CPU deals are going to seem very enticing. We have so many DDR5-compatible processors on the shelves now, and since Intel has had a bit of a PR crisis to deal with this year, I'd be willing to bet that low, low prices will be on the cards.
The 13th generation from Intel is worth watching, in particular, especially since instability issues have now been more or less fixed for new purchases, and warranty safeguarding is in place in case you're impacted by it. The 12th generation, however, which is already excellent value, could be dirt-cheap if stock is readily available. Either generation will get you a DDR5-compatible chip, and both can provide solid gaming performance. Even the 14th Generation will likely see its first discounts at the tail end of the year, so there are loads of processors to consider from the blue side of the market. We wouldn't recommend grabbing anything from the 11th Generation if there's a secondary wave of Prime Day sales this year - not because they aren't capable processors, but because you'll be tying yourself to DDR4 systems when the DDR5 move is becoming so affordable. If you're currently stuck on an 11th Gen motherboard, consider saving your pennies for now and looking for DDR5 upgrades during the sale.
With AMD, we're always going to be looking at prices that undercut the competition. The Ryzen 7000 series could see some new low price drops, especially now that the 9000 Series has arrived. In fact, based on previous generations, we could see the first batch of discounts for this family, just to be an extra thorn in Intel's paw. 8000G CPUs will likely be cheaper than ever too, so keep an eye out for those.
Of course, the staple for any online sales event is the Ryzen 5000 Series, which has to be the go-to for any budget PC builder out there. Again, we would recommend grabbing DDR5-compatible parts wherever possible, but the 5000 Series is still so capable if you're building a starter PC and you want to spend as little as possible. Particularly alluring are the latest chips in this family, which AMD launched more of this year alongside the Ryzen 9000 Series.
Prime day GPU deals: We've seen some progressively better deals on 40 Series Nvidia graphics cards in more recent sales events. Now that the Super cards are on the shelves, we're likely to see their equivalents get some price drops. In particular, the RTX 4070 could drop to the $499 mark, if we're lucky, and you can bet your house on AMD deals undercutting Team Green. Unfortunately, if you're waiting for those Super cards to go on sale during Prime Day, don't hold your breath. it isn't outside the realms of possibility, but if they drop it won't be by much.
There's also the 30 Series generation to consider. On the lower end of the scale with the 3050 and 3060, and while stock shortages further up the price ladder come into play these days, the 3060 in particular remains steadily supplied at most retailers. However, with 4060 deals beginning to become more reasonable, we'd always recommend the more current architecture.
On the AMD side of things, we've been seeing prices for the 7900 XTX get lower of late, and if you're keen on that powerhouse of a graphics card, it's worth waiting til Prime Day to see just how much value you can squeeze out of a purchase. The 7600 XT could see some seriously competitive deal offerings since it sits nearer the lower end of the spectrum. There are also price discrepancies between the 7800XT and 7900 GRE that could get interesting in the 1440p/4K battle with Nvidia.
Memory: To sound like a broken record, Prime Day and Black Friday have to be the best time to grab DDR5 RAM. It's only going to continue getting cheaper, and we're beginning to see more 32GB kits go for around $100, which we'd recommend.
DDR4 will be available for super cheap prices, but again, futureproofing is worth the extra money here.
SSDs: Storage devices could finally see the discounts we've been waiting for all year, should Amazon run another Prime Day event in October. Since Black Friday last year, they've gone back up in price, and whether it's been a shortage of NAND chips, or manufacturers trying to make money back from over a year of continued price drops, it's been hard to see.
The golden price bracket you should shoot for is $60 for 1TB and $100 for 2TB. If you can get as close to those numbers as possible, you'll be grabbing a great deal. If the big brands fail you though, we've been predominantly testing budget brands this year to prepare for these bigger sales events so we can still recommend decent options for fair prices.

Ever since playing Journey at the age of 15, I’ve been desperate to cover video games for a living. After graduating from Edinburgh Napier University with a degree in Journalism, I contributed to the Scottish Games Network and completed an Editorial Internship over at Expert Reviews. Besides that, I’ve been managing my own YouTube channel and Podcast for the last 7 years. It’s been a long road, but all that experience somehow landed me a dream job covering gaming hardware. I’m a self-confessing PlayStation fanboy, but my experience covering the larger business and developer side of the whole industry has given me a strong knowledge of all platforms. When I’m not testing out every peripheral I can get my hands on, I’m probably either playing tennis or dissecting game design for an upcoming video essay. Now, I better stop myself here before I get talking about my favourite games like HUNT: Showdown, Dishonored, and Towerfall Ascension. Location: UK Remote
