Pratchett fans reach for the Sky
Worldwide bestseller Hogfather set for UK shoot
They walk among us. Maybe you’ll bump into one of them as you jostle for space on the tube or run for the bus tonight but be aware - Terry Pratchett readers are bloody everywhere.
Spotting them should be easy however as they'll probably be all aglow at the prospect of TP’s shelf-breaker Hogfather being Sky One's biggest drama commission ever.
The lavish production will be shot at London’s 3 Mills Studios on HD and will star Ian Richardson and English TV legend David Jason.
The plot revolves around an assassination attempt on the Hogfather - a Santa Claus type figure who lives in a quasi-medieval society that inhabit a 10,000 mile diameter flat disc known as Discworld.
Hogfather represents the first ever live-action/CGI representation of Discworld and will be shown on Sky One over the 2006 Christmas period.
Filming kicks off in London next month, with more cast members to be announced shortly.
