The Last of Us creative director Neil Druckmann has strongly suggested that Naughty Dog will today reveal DLC for the game which takes players back to the “outbreak day” of the cordyceps infection. He posted on Twitter (note today’s date on the paper pictured):
It's almost here. What are you doing to prepare? #OutbreakDay pic.twitter.com/zm7bqt85alSeptember 25, 2013
Naughty Dog said earlier this week that it plans to reveal information about the game’s eagerly anticipated DLC this week. The studio plans to release three The Last of Us DLC packs, one campaign add-on and two multiplayer ones. They’re available to pre-purchase as part of a $19.99 / €19.99 season pass, which offers a 30 per cent saving over picking up the three packs individually.
On the subject of potential sequels, Druckmann has said that while the game world may live on, the book is closed for protagonists Joel and Ellie: "I think the world is ripe for more stories, but as far as the journey Joel and Ellie goes on it ends with this game."
