Enter Galar Mine No. 2 and aside from a bunch of wild Pokemon, the first thing you'll come across is another battle with Bede.

After taking down Bede - she's still a huge Psychic-type fan – head further through the cave to find Worker Francis blocking the path with three Dusk Balls behind him.

Take note of the tiny Poke Balls in the ground; these are actually wild Stunfisk, so walk around them if you don't fancy a series of wild Pokemon battles.

Just like the previous bridge, you can also find random feathers along the bridge back into Motostoke.

Now you're in the Motostoke Outskirts, and almost ready to take on the Fire-gym. First up however, is Madame Caroline.

Afterwards, there's one more battle you need to complete against Police Officer Raymond.

Take him down and cross the bridge back into Motostoke, then head to the Budew Inn. Inside, you’ll find Marnie who won’t let you past without another battle. Morpeko puts up one hell of a fight thanks to its type constantly changing, but you should be able to brute force your way through. Also, watch out for Scraggy’s Headbutt — a type advantage here is crucial.

Marnie likes Fighting and Dark-types, which means that using a Fairy-type is your best bet here. When you beat her, she’ll give you Kabu’s league card and two Burn Heals. The next morning, you can use the elevator to head upstairs and speak to the man in the far left room for a Star Piece. Afterwards, leave and head over to Motostoke Gym.

Motostoke Gym

Motostoke Gym is the Fire-type gym, and the challenge here is a simple one; simply earn five points before your competitors. How do you earn points, I hear you ask? There will be three wild Pokemon in an arena, and three other trainers. You earn one point for defeating a wild Pokemon, and two points for catching it. The three Pokemon you’ll find are Vulpix, Litwick, and Sizzlipede. Simply catch all three and you’ll win the challenge, just don’t let your opponents reach five points before you!

As long as you've got a strong Water or Rock-type, Ninetales and Arcanine are a pushover. Centiskorch on the other hand is when Kabu will Gigantamax, so make sure you've got some Pokemon that can absorb the hits — or use your Dynamax first — to make sure your Pokemon with type-advantages don't get wiped out.

When you beat Kabu, you can catch Pokemon up to level 35, and you'll be given TM38 Will-O-Wisp. Head outside and watch the ensuing cutscene, then head over to the Wild Area with Hop to make your way towards Hammerlocke. You can spend as much time as you like exploring the Wild Area, but your goal is to reach the northernmost point and enter Hammerlocke.

Give me a game and I will write every "how to" I possibly can or die trying. When I'm not knee-deep in a game to write guides on, you'll find me hurtling round the track in F1, flinging balls on my phone in Pokemon Go, pretending to know what I'm doing in Football Manager, or clicking on heads in Valorant.
