Pokemon Sword and Shield complete guide and walkthrough to become the Champion of Galar
All the Pokemon Sword and Shield guides you'll need for your playthrough
Post-game activities
Now you're champion, what else is there to do in the region of Galar? Quite a lot, believe it or not. Below we've got everything there is to do, starting off with the one-time items to find and obtain!
Get Charmander
We've covered this specifically in our guide on how to get Charmander in Pokemon Sword and Shield, but to cut a long story short, once you've done everything, you should visit Hop's house. Head upstairs into his room and on the floor you'll find Charmander, left as gift to you by Leon!
Rare league cards
You'll have a lot of rare league cards thanks to defeating all of the dynamaxed Pokemon at the various stadiums, but there's a few more you need to collect. First up is Rose, which you acquire from Oleana. She's doing community service inside Galar Mine No. 2 and is in such a good mood, she'll hand it over to you.
Next, head up to Motostoke Stadium, and speak to ol' Ball Guy. He's got a rare league card for you too! Who'd have guessed it? Finally, go back to Spikemuth and you'll find that Marnie has taken over the gym from her brother Piers. The first time you beat her, she'll give you her rare league card. She's also kind of a pushover thanks to her relatively low levelled Pokemon!
Pokemon | Level | Type |
---|---|---|
Liepard | 59 | Dark |
Toxicroak | 59 | Poison/Fighting |
Scrafty | 59 | Dark/Fighting |
Morpeko | 60 | Electric/Dark |
Grimmsnarl | 60 | Dark/Fairy |
Delivery driver
Now it's time to head to Hulbury and become a food delivery driver for a short while. Enter the Captain's Table seafood restaurant, where you had the meal with Sonia and Chairman Rose much earlier in the game, and the chef is in dire need of a delivery person.
He didn't get the address for any of the orders but he does give you clues about what he could hear over the phone. To cut a long story short, here are the three places you need to deliver food to, and the rewards you'll get in return:
- Grey house close to the train station | Exp. Candy L, Nugget x5
- Fourth house on the western road with a Swirlix inside | Big Nugget x2
- Stall in the market with a green and white striped roof | Lucky Egg
Beast Ball
For an item that doesn't have much use (yet!) in Pokemon Sword and Shield, head to Stow-on-Side and speak to the bloke behind the bargain stall. He'll give you the Beast Ball. In previous games, this has been used to catch the Ultra Beasts with a 5x catch rate, but they don't exist in Pokemon Sword and Shield so right now, the Beast Ball is essentially a collectors item. Cool to have nonetheless!
Battle Cafes
There's three Battle Cafes in the game, in Motostoke, Hammerlocke, and Wyndon, and you can return to each of them every single day for more rewards, including some sweet treats!
Oval Charm & Shiny Charm
In Circhester, head back to the floor of the hotel with the chap who wanted you to come back when you're champion, and you'll discover this is Morimoto! He's a recurring NPC for the last few generations based on Shigeki Morimoto, a designer at Game Freak. Beat him and you can obtain the Oval Charm.
Morimoto
Pokemon | Level | Type |
---|---|---|
Cursola | 65 | Ghost |
Grapploct | 65 | Fighting |
Stonjourner | 65 | Rock |
Coalossal | 65 | Rock/Fire |
Dragapult | 65 | Dragon/Ghost |
Snorlax | 65 | Normal |
When you've completed the Pokedex, head into the room to the left of Morimoto and you'll be able to obtain the Shiny Charm! This wonderful item increases the chance of finding a shiny Pokemon in the wild, crucial for those shiny hunters.
Type: Null
Make sure you also get a Type: Null! This odd Pokemon is a Normal-type which can have its type changed via the use of memories, and you'll be given everything necessary up at Rose Tower. Head here and speak to the woman in the bottom left corner to get Type: Null. Stay in the area, because Rose Tower has now become...
Battle Tower
The Battle Tower! This is where you can challenge high level opponents and earn battle points to spend in the BP shop, rent out different battle teams, and more. Fight through the battle tower to earn some of the best rewards available in Pokemon Sword and Shield.

Give me a game and I will write every "how to" I possibly can or die trying. When I'm not knee-deep in a game to write guides on, you'll find me hurtling round the track in F1, flinging balls on my phone in Pokemon Go, pretending to know what I'm doing in Football Manager, or clicking on heads in Valorant.
