Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team - hands-on
Lame use of the DS is a shame
Your team headquarters and the neighboring village serve as the game's hub. In between dungeon crawls you can look for more missions, buy and sell items, save the money you find, sore items, link moves, and more. The hub feature of this game is simple, easy to use, and well done.
The same cannot be said for the majority of the core gameplay. As you make your way through each dungeon, you engage in some turn-based combat with other Pokemon. While you have a slew of abilities and items at your disposal, as well as a limited amount of control of your teammates, so far the combat is doesn't seem nearly as involved or interesting as the skirmishes in the Pokemon RPGs. We're worried that Pokemon veterans will find it too simple and too easy.
