Create your own Pokemon! Show the world your Pokemon design skills on GamesRadar
Oct 15, 2007
Ever wondered what it would be like to be a Pokemon designer? Ever thought you could do better than the professionals? We love Pokemon, but let's face it - some of them could have been designed a little more creatively - Pidgey, Taillow, Starly... come on, right?
Well, now's your chance to show the world what you've got. Design your ultimate Pokemon from scratch, and your creation could be featured in a special article on GamesRadar. Judging by the creative minds in ourPokemon forums, we know if you're a Pokemon fanthenyou've probably got a lot of great ideas to share, so now's the time to do it.
Above: While amusing, entries like this will not be accepted - your Pokemon must be created from scratch
Designs can be as creative and thorough as you want, but here are some general suggestions:
1) Name your Pokemon
2) Give it a Type (Grass, Psychic, etc)
3) Give it an Ability. Use a real one like Pressure or Hydration, or make one up from scratch. If you make one up, make sure you explain what its effects are.
4) Describe its stats. What are its strengths/weaknesses?
5) Give it a moveset (four moves total). You can use real moves/attacks, or make them up from scratch, or include a combination of real and made-up moves. If you make up a move, make sure you include a description of what it does.
6) Give a quick overall description of your Pokemon. Does it have a story? Where does it live? Include any details you think are important.
7) Include an image of your Pokemon. If you draw it on paper, please include a decent-quality scan or photo of the image. We'll be featuring the winner's creation in a special Pokemon article, so make sure the resolution is high enough to look good at a fairly large size, like the image above.

Prizes
Grand Prize: The winner's creation will be featured in a special article on GamesRadar. In addition, the winner will also receive three Pokemon that we feel exemplify excellent Pokemon design: Scyther, Mudkip, and (surfing) Pikachu. They'll all be holding rare berries as an added bonus, too.
Runners up: Two runners up will also be selected to each receive either a Scyther or a Mudkip, also holding rare berries.
