Pocket Legends, an ambitious online role-playing game that iPhone players have been toying with for quite some time, is now available for download on the Android Market. It is one of the first big cross-platform games between Android and iPhone, allowing users on both sides to play together.
In Pocket Legends, players choose to be an archer, enchantress, or warrior and then go off on quests to gain levels and earn money and upgrades.
Each battle allows players from around the world to connect and compete. Although the game is billed as an MMOG, it doesn't really have a full open-world online aspect to it, so that's a bit misleading. It does have a World of Warcraft/Ragnarok aesthetic, though.
In addition to Wi-Fi, the game functions over 3G and Edge data networks, andit'sa surprisingly small 30 MB download. It works on all Android devices as long as they have Android 2.1 or later installed.
Pocket Legends has been on Android in closed beta for a while now -today's introduction to the Android Market brings it to open beta - and it's free! The game has already tallied more than 10,000 downloads.
