PlayStation Phone US launch may be near, according to Android dev's game listings

Sony Ericsson still hasn't set a US release date for the Xperia Play, known unofficially as the 'PlayStation Phone,' but it must be close because independent developer Polarbit has already updated two of its games to be compatible with the device.

The descriptions for Android titles Reckless Racing and Raging Thunder 2 now contain the phrase "Optimized for the Xperia Play."

Sony has promised dozens of games will be available for the Play as soon as it's released. Several PS One classics will be part of the device's catalog, as Xperia isthe first US phone to incorporate Sony'sPlayStation Suiteinitiative.

Last month, the company saidthe XperiaPlay phonewould be available in the US in March, but nothing more specific has been announced. On Friday, however, it revealed the device will launch in the UK on March 31. Surelya US release can't be far behind.

One of the biggest mobile trade shows, the CTIA Wireless conference, kicks off this week in Orlando. It's possible we'llhear some new details there.
