I think the 30th Anniversary DualSense just returned to the shelves - with one big caveat

The PlayStation 30th Anniversary DualSense controller has been tough to get your hands on if you didn't succeed with a pre-order straight from day one. This is an exceedingly popular gamepad and I, like many others, missed out on the chance to secure my own. I had my opportunities (I covered the entire pre-order stage), but foolishly let my more sensible self win - I didn't think I needed another controller, and I was wrong.

I've just spotted a PS5 Digital Edition bundle at EE that could offer some players redemption, though. The retailer has the console listed with a 30th Anniversary DualSense controller for £429 right now. That's £30 off the price of both the console and gamepad together, but it's the rarity of those limited edition buttons keeping this bundle floating.

It's the first time I've seen the controller readily available on the shelves outside of the pre-order stage. While it's unavailable to buy separately (trust me, I checked), I've been able to get all the way through to payment information with the gamepad still in the cart. It's priced differently to another PS5 bundle on EE's shelves as well, with an extra £10 on the final cost - so I'm hesitant to think it's a glitch with no actual stock behind it.

Still, if you're after a new console and thought you'd missed your shot at a limited edition DualSense this is well worth a look. I'd stay vigilant and keep a close eye on your emails if EE has in fact fluffed it up, but with caution on your side this could be a golden shot.

Save £14.98 - You'll need to want a whole new console, but if you're on the hunt for a PS5 Slim anyway this is an excellent shot at the super rare 30th Anniversary DualSense controller. The gamepad is currently available with a Digital Edition PS5 for £30 off the combined prices of both.

Should you buy a PS5 Slim to get the 30th Anniversary DualSense?

If you've already got a PS5, you're going to need to really want that 30th Anniversary DualSense to shell out for another. I'm not quite ready to commit to that kind of purchase just to pick up another controller, so I'm recommending this bundle to those in a slightly different position.

I'd only consider this offer if you were already shopping for a PS5 Digital Edition console in the first place. It's a fantastic deal even aside from the rarity of the controller - you're spending just £30 more than the price of the PS5 by itself and scoring a free gamepad. I haven't seen any DualSense controllers sitting at £30 in the past.

Of course, it's also worth noting that this is a Digital Edition, so if you've got physical PS4 games to catch up on you'll need to buy a PS5 disc drive separately. That costs £99.99 by itself - so those numbers are starting to climb especially when put next to a standard disc-edition console at £479.99. Those with no physical games in their catalog, or who download all their titles anyway, will be best positioned to take advantage of this offer - and that 30th Anniversary DualSense is a happy bonus.

If you're kitting out your new console further, I'd check out the best PS5 accessories on the market. Or, we're rounding up the best PS5 controllers and the best PS5 headsets available now.
