This year's Black Friday Nintendo Switch deals are out in full force, and I'm seeing a fantastic level of savings across the board right now. Record-low prices on console bundles? Newly released games seeing early savings? Rarely discounted first party accessories dropping their costs? This is the best round of savings I've seen on Ninty's hybrid console.

I've been sweeping the shelves for all the biggest Black Friday Nintendo Switch deals, grabbing every single game, accessory, and bundle that we've tested and recommend. I don't just dump everything here when I find it, though. Once that full roster is in, I price check against every other retailer on the web to make sure I've found the best discount and then check against individual price histories to make sure we're at or near a record-low rate. Today, that's left us with 21 Nintendo Switch deals that cut above the rest of the market right now.

I've been tracking Black Friday offers for five years now, and I've never seen Nintendo Switch deals like this. First up, I certainly wasn't expecting to see console bundles dropping their prices again and games have taken me by surprise as well. This isn't my first rodeo, and I've developed quite the eye for a blockbuster discount over the years.

1. Nintendo Switch OLED | Mario Kart 8 Deluxe | 12 months Nintendo Switch Online | $349 at Amazon
Walmart's out of stock and Best Buy has taken its deals in-store, that means Amazon is your best bet for Nintendo Switch OLED bundles right now. Thankfully, this $349 sales price has a ton of value in it - offering up a free copy of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and 12 months of Nintendo Switch Online.

UK: £339 at Currys (no Switch Online)

3. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom | $69.99 $39.99 at Best Buy
Save $30 - I've seen Tears of the Kingdom drop to $50 before, and it's even made its way down to $45 in previous Black Friday Nintendo Switch deals. But I've never seen it at just $39.99. This is a brand new record-low price from Best Buy, shaving $30 off one of the biggest games for the system.

Save $13 - Orzly's spacious, durable, and affordable carry case is now discounted down to just $15.19 - excellent news for anyone looking to keep a Switch or Switch OLED safe. I use this case whenever I'm on the road, and have been doing so for the last three years.

5. Hori Split Pad Pro | $49.99 $38.99 at WalmartSave $11 -

5. Hori Split Pad Pro | $49.99 $38.99 at Walmart
Save $11 - The Hori Split Pad Pro is now down to just $38.99 at Walmart - that's a pretty solid offer considering day to day sale prices tend to tap out at $42.99. You're saving $4 more than you usually would on this Joy-Con replacement. I use these gamepads whenever I have the Switch in handheld mode - they're far more comfortable than Ninty's controllers and the thumbsticks feel more precise as well.

UK: £44.99 £39.99 at Amazon

6. Joy-Con L/R red and blue | $79.99 $59.99 at Best BuySave $20 -

6. Joy-Con L/R red and blue | $79.99 $59.99 at Best Buy

7. The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom | $59.95 $44.99 at WootSave $15 -

7. The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom | $59.95 $44.99 at Woot
Save $15 - Echoes of Wisdom may be new to the scene, but that's not stopping Woot offering a $15 discount on the latest release. That's an exceptionally rare offer - it usually takes first party Nintendo Switch games months to see their first savings and some are still stuck at $50 years after launch.

UK: £49.99 £39 at Amazon

8. Mario & Luigi: Brothership | $59.99 $49.99 at WootSave $10 -

8. Mario & Luigi: Brothership | $59.99 $49.99 at Woot
Save $10 - Another new release seeing early discounts at Woot, Mario & Luigi: Brothership is also getting involved. This $10 discount is a little smaller than others, but considering this duo only hit the shelves at the start of the month it's still mighty impressive.

UK: £49.99 £39.99 at Amazon

9. Genki Covert Dock | $59.99 $47.99 at AmazonSave $12 -

9. Genki Covert Dock | $59.99 $47.99 at Amazon
Save $12 - The Genki Covert Dock is my favorite Nintendo Switch accessory of all time, pairing a super handy docking system with a full 45W charger for a truly portable Switch experience. Today's Black Friday discount is a little more generous than most - this is usually only $10 off.

10. Genki Covert Dock Mini | $49.99 $31.99 at AmazonSave $18 -

10. Genki Covert Dock Mini | $49.99 $31.99 at Amazon
Save $18 - If you want something a little smaller, the Genki Covert Dock Mini is a more portable docking station and charger for your standard or OLED system. Not only that, but it's down to its lowest price ever at Amazon right now - I usually only see those numbers fall to $39.99 even on Black Friday.

11. Super Mario Odyssey | $59.99 $29.99 at Best BuySave $30 -

11. Super Mario Odyssey | $59.99 $29.99 at Best Buy
Save $30 - Super Mario Odyssey was a day one darling for the Nintendo Switch - and all these years later it's still difficult to find a solid discount. Best Buy has your back this Black Friday, with a drop down to a fantastic $29.99 sales price. Like many, this was the first game I played on Ninty's system and I've returned pretty much every year since then.

12. Super Mario RPG | $59.99 $31.99 at WootSave $20 -

12. Super Mario RPG | $59.99 $31.99 at Woot
Save $20 - Super Mario RPG has been on sale for a long time now, but I've never seen those numbers tick this close to $30. Usual discounts get stuck at around $35 on this port, so Woot's savings are working particularly hard for you today.

UK: £38.50 at Amazon

13. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe | $59.99 $37.99 at WootSave $22 -

13. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe | $59.99 $37.99 at Woot
Save $22 - Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has finally stepped away from its usual $40 sales price - and even that $20 discount was rare. Woot has the lowest price I've ever seen on the classic kart racer - perfect for anyone looking to grab a multiplayer crowd-pleaser this Black Friday.

UK: £49.99 £34.95 at Amazon

14. Genki ShadowCast 2 | $49.99 $39.99 at AmazonSave $10 -

14. Genki ShadowCast 2 | $49.99 $39.99 at Amazon
Save $10 - The Genki ShadowCast 2 is down to just $39.99 in Amazon's Black Friday Nintendo Switch deals - a $10 discount and record-low price on the capture card. This was originally built for streaming, but I just use it to easily play Nintendo Switch games on my iPad.

15. Mario vs. Donkey Kong | $49.99 $39.99 at WootSave $10 -

15. Mario vs. Donkey Kong | $49.99 $39.99 at Woot
Save $10 - If you're after something more puzzle-shaped, I'd recommend jumping into this $10 discount on the already-cheaper Mario vs Donkey Kong. Woot has the best price I've found on the web for the 2024 port.

UK: £39.99 £30.99 at Amazon

16. CRKD Nitro Deck+ | $69.99 $49.99 at AmazonSave $20 -

16. CRKD Nitro Deck+ | $69.99 $49.99 at Amazon
Save $20 - The latest CRKD Nitro Deck+ model has just dropped to $49.99 at Amazon - its lowest price ever. Considering this is a newer release than the model that popped up in these Black Friday Nintendo Switch deals for the same price last year, that's excellent value. This is our go-to for a Joy-Con alternative if you still want access to more of Ninty's features.

UK: £69.99 at Amazon

17. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate | $59.99 $42.99 at WootSave $17 -

17. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate | $59.99 $42.99 at Woot
Save $17 - It's an older release, but Super Smash Bros. Ultimate still doesn't see discounts like this too often. You'll find the brawler available for a record-low $42.99 at Woot right now, with a full $17 off the final price.

UK: £59.99 £44.95 at Amazon

18. Silicon Power 1TB memory card | $69.99 $55.98 at AmazonSave $14 -

18. Silicon Power 1TB memory card | $69.99 $55.98 at Amazon
Save $14 - This is the largest memory card you can fit in a Nintendo Switch, and Prime members can grab it for its lowest price yet. I went with Silicon Power's SD cards when I made the leap from 256GB to 512GB last year, and everything loads nice and snappy.

19. SteelSeries Arctis Nova 1 | $59.99 $39.99 at AmazonSave $20 -

19. SteelSeries Arctis Nova 1 | $59.99 $39.99 at Amazon
Save $20 - The SteelSeries Arctis Nova 1 is my favorite budget headset for the Nintendo Switch - it's pretty effortless all-in, with a simple wired connection, excellent audio, and an affordable price tag. Now that that $59.99 MSRP is down to just $39.99, it's a must-see.

UK: £59.99 £54.99 at Amazon

20. Octopath Traveler 2 | $39.99 $29.99 at Best BuySave $10 -

20. Octopath Traveler 2 | $39.99 $29.99 at Best Buy
Save $10 - I'm around halfway through my first playthrough of Octopath Traveler 2, but I already prefer it to the original, and I loved that game. This is also a regular favorite among cheaper Black Friday Nintendo Switch deals, and Best Buy is keeping its side of the bargain this week.

UK: £49.99 £37.99 at Amazon

21. Princess Peach: Showtime! | $59.99 $44.99 at WootSave $15 -

21. Princess Peach: Showtime! | $59.99 $44.99 at Woot
Save $15 - Princess Peach: Showtime is a fairly recent release seeing a similar $15 discount at Woot this week. The adventure is a little easier than other Mario titles, but still packs a punch and it's excellent value at just under $45.

Walmart has the best Nintendo Switch bundle on the digital shelves right now

If you don't want to go in-store with Best Buy to save on your Nintendo Switch bundle this Black Friday, I'd recommend heading over to Walmart. The online store has a $50 discount on the $299 Mario Kart 8 Deluxe bundle, scoring you a standard edition console, a free copy of the game, and 12 months of NSO for just $249. That's the best I've seen on the web today, but competition is heating up. Amazon has already started to run out of stock on these package offers, so the crowds are piling up.

PSA: Don't fall for this Nintendo Switch Lite bundle 'deal'

Best Buy has a Hyrule Edition Nintendo Switch Lite and a copy of The Legend of Zelda Echoes of Wisdom on sale for $269.98 this week. Even taking the higher price of that special edition console into account - that's not a deal. You're simply paying the full MSRP of both items in one go, and considering Woot currently has Echoes of Wisdom down to $44.99 you're actually better off buying each one separately. Best Buy isn't the only retailer that does this, but I do see it popping up here more frequently. When buying a bundle, it's always worth checking the value of the actual items included (and their current prices at other retailers) - especially if the final cost is more than the console itself.

Watch list: Hori Mario Kart Racing Wheel Pro Deluxe

I always look out for discounts on the Hori Mario Kart Racing Wheel Pro Deluxe - its $109.99 MSRP is already strong compared to the competition, but it's dropped as low as $69.99 in the past. That was way back in 2021, so it would be optimistic to hope for a return to such a record - however, this wheel has been locked in at between $80 and $90 over the last year and anything below that bracket would satisfy at this point. If you've already got every trophy in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe this needs to be on your watch list this Black Friday.

Will the Nintendo Switch 2 be backwards compatible?

Planning on picking up a Nintendo Switch 2 next year? You'd do well to take advantage of this week's game deals - the next system has been confirmed to be backwards compatible. That means you can save now when prices are low and have a full collection stocked for the new model. While we're not yet sure when that will be, rumors have put the launch of the Switch 2 at around March of next year.

Where are all the Switch Lite deals?

The Nintendo Switch Lite is looking a little left out this Black Friday. While the OLED and standard model have been seeing some particularly strong savings (so good they're starting to run off the shelves), the little handheld that could is still at full price in most stores. I'll be keeping a close eye on this one - but it's worth noting that Lite discounts rarely reach the same heights as the bigger consoles. It's already Ninty's cheapest machine, and while we did enjoy a $159.99 bundle price at Walmart earlier in the year savings have been slow since launch.

Super Mario Odyssey is now just $29.99

Super Mario Odyssey on a Nintendo Switch OLED

Super Mario Odyssey has crashed in price at Best Buy this week, with a record-low $29.99 sales price up for grabs. This might be one of the oldest games for the Nintendo Switch, but it's actually rarely found for less than it $59.99 MSRP - even today. I first grabbed this adventure with my original console and still dip back in from time to time now that I've beaten it twice. It's one of (if not the) best games I've played on the system so far - and at $29.99 it's an absolute steal.

My final word on Genki, I promise

Super Mario RPG playing on an iPad Air through the Genki ShadowCast 2

If you've ever wanted to play Nintendo Switch on your iPad, there's just one more Genki gadget you'll want to check out this Black Friday. It's the Shadow Cast 2 - a super cheap capture card that's best used to play on a range of different screens. The newer model means latencies in all but the fastest platformers are reduced considerably, and picture quality doesn't take as much of a hit either. I use it to hook up a Covert Dock to my iPad for the full tabletop experience.

Genki Shadow Cast 2 | $49.99 $39.99 at Amazon

The Genki Covert Dock Mini is also on sale

If you're looking for an even smaller dock, allow me to introduce you to the Genki Covert Dock Mini. It drops the USB-A port of the larger model featured below, and kicks the charging power down to 20W, but if you want the lowest price and the smallest footprint possible it's still well worth a look.

Genki Covert Dock Mini | $39.99 $31.99 at Amazon

Personal Pick: Genki Covert Dock

I find myself singing about the Genki Covert Dock every Black Friday - it's a regular in these sales and, compared to the full official dock, it's already excellent value at MSRP. The adapter-sized plug-in features a USB-C, HDMI, and USB-A port, which is everything you need to connect your system to any TV you find. That's a game-changer for anyone who, like me, takes their Switch on the go and often finds themselves missing the big-screen experience.

Genki Covert Dock | $59.99 $47.99 at Amazon

PSA: Best Buy has $75.99 off Nintendo Switch bundles... but there's a catch

Best Buy has some of the best Black Friday Nintendo Switch bundles on the market right now, but you'll need to head in-store to grab them. Both the $349.99 and $299.99 models are included in these offers - and that's with the free copy of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and 12 months of Nintendo Switch Online included. That means you can pay just $224.99 for the standard edition bundle and $274.99 for the OLED version - just check your local store still has stock before you make the trip.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has never been cheaper

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Nintendo Switch game with themed Joy-Con

Tears of the Kingdom may not have launched to the fever-pitch fervor that Breath of the Wild did, but it's still one of the best Nintendo Switch games on the market. Like the original game, it's steered well clear of discounts over the course of its life, but with Black Friday Nintendo Switch deals hitting so hard this week it hasn't quite escaped Best Buy's sales shelf. I thought we might see some solid savings on the sequel this November, but I wasn't prepared for a brand new record-low price. A $30 discount takes us down to a fantastic $39.99 rate here - impressive considering I've only ever seen it dip to $45 once in the past, and that was earlier this month.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom | $69.99 $39.99 at Best Buy

Hori Split Pad Pro vs Nintendo Switch Joy-Con: which should you buy?

Nintendo Switch Joy-Con with Hori Split Pad Pro on a wooden desk

Both the Hori Split Pad Pro and official Nintendo Switch Joy-Con are on sale right now, and there's only a $20 price difference between the two. I'll admit, I generally use the Split Pad Pro whenever I'm playing handheld mode and if you mostly play single player without a dock, I'd recommend you do the same. However, that playstyle isn't going to fit everyone.

If you want to maximize your wireless multiplayer options, then the Nintendo Switch Joy-Con are the better buy this week. Hori's version doesn't have any wireless functionality baked in - it only works when attached to the Switch itself or via a separate attachment accessory. It's also worth noting that those who rely on rumble or gamepad gyro controls should steer clear of the Split Pad Pro. There's no haptic feedback in here and the only motion controls you have open to you are those baked inside the tablet itself. If you're looking at games that require controllers to be removed from the device (ie Just Dance, Switch Sports etc.) you'll be stuck here.

On the flip side, Hori's cheaper alternative is much more comfortable than the Joy-Con, with its larger shape, bigger grip size, and full button layout. The thumbsticks are wider and provide a more precise feel overall to boot.

Sonic fans are covered this Black Friday

While some Sonic games aren't quite at their lowest ever prices yet, Amazon has a record-breaking discount on Sonic X Shadow Generations. The October release has sailed down to its lowest price yet, with its first major discount dropping $20 from the $49.99 MSRP. That's excellent news for any long term fans of the series, though newbies will still have a great time exploring Shadow's adventure.

Sonic X Shadow Generations | $49.99 $29.99 at Amazon

Personal Pick: Hori Split Pad Pro

Hori Split Pad Pro controllers on Nintendo Switch OLED playing Pokemon

The Hori Split Pad Pro generally only ever hits $42.99 during even larger sales events like Black Friday - and that's the price I'm seeing at most retailers right now... most. Walmart has dropped below the $40 barrier in the lead up to the main event, offering the Joy-Con alternative for just $38.99.

I have the Split Pad Pro attached to my console whenever I'm playing in handheld mode - it's the best Nintendo Switch controller from a comfort perspective. I find regular Joy-Con just a little too small and thin to be truly comfortable for longer periods and the chunkier form factor and softer curves of Hori's model feels far more secure. Not only that, but I've noticed that the thumbsticks feel a lot better under the hand as well - plus you're getting those back buttons and turbo functions included. The Split Pad Pro is much cheaper than a set of Joy-Con, even at their current sales price - but you are making some sacrifices.

While they slot straight onto the side of the handheld like Ninty's controllers, each Split Pad Pro half only works when connected to the device. That means you can't break these up for wireless multiplayer endeavors or use them while docked without the attachment piece (sold separately). You do also miss out on rumble which I found a little sad during my time with Pokemon Legeds: Arceus.

Overall, though, if you're prioritizing comfort in a larger set of controls there's nothing beating Hori right now.

Save $15 on The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom

Hand holding The Legend of Zelda Echoes of Wisdom Nintendo Switch game

It might have only hit the shelves a couple of months ago, but The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom's price has been shifting since launch. These offers have primarily come from Woot, first drifting down to the low $50s, then skipping below that threshold for a $47.99 rate and finally settling at today's $44.99 record-low price. That's a fantastic offer for a newly released Nintendo Switch game - I only ever see first party titles dropping a few bucks off their launch prices in the first few months.

Don't need a Pro Controller? Joy-Con are cheaper than ever at Walmart

Nintendo Switch Joy-Con on a blue background with best deal badge

Of course, the Pro Controller is only going to make sense if you mostly play on the big-screen. If you're after a more portable gamepad, you'll want to get yourself a pair of Ninty's finest. Discounts on official Joy-Con are hard to come by - I only ever see savings during Black Friday, and even then the last few years have been a little dry. That's why this $20 discount on the Neon Red / Blue controllers took me by surprise. You'll find them for just $59 at Walmart right now - the lowest price I've ever seen.

Nintendo Switch Joy-Con | $79.99 $59 at Walmart

Should you buy the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller?

Nintendo Switch Pro Controller

I've bought exactly three Nintendo Switch Pro controllers in my life - I loved my first one so much I grabbed a second for multiplayer purposes, and then a puppy destroyed it. Rest assured, this controller is so integral to my setup it was replaced the same day. The official gamepad feels fantastic in the hands, offer far tighter and more precise thumbsticks than Joy-Con, and still packs all the Switch's baked in features. That's more than I can say for the cheaper third party alternatives I've dabbled in over the years - this gamepad has the weight and texture to prove its worth.

I'd recommend the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller to anyone who regularly plays in docked mode. Yes, the Joy-Con grip is convenient (and free with the console), but those smaller controllers and harsh edges wear on the palms over time.

My favorite Nintendo Switch game is now $15 off at Best Buy

Dragon Quest XI S Nintendo Switch game on a wooden desk with SNES controller and Game Boy Color

Mario and Zelda can do as they wish, I'm more interested in The Hero. I'm a serial game hopper, but I kept at Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age for about 150 hours on my first run through, and I've gone straight back in for more since then. It's everything I love about turn-based combat and more, and now Best Buy has a $15 discount on the digital download. That means you can grab it for just $34.99 right now - cheaper than both Amazon and Walmart's current $50 prices.

Who has the best Switch game deals so far?

Nintendo Switch games stacked on a wooden desk

While Best Buy is certainly in second place, it's actually Woot offering the biggest Black Friday Nintendo Switch game deals right now. The Amazon-owned discount site has been flying high on rare discounts across new releases and heavier savings on some more classic titles. While I'd recommend shopping between the two sites to make sure you're getting the best price possible, Woot's selection is larger and much more varied than Best Buy's today. Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, Mario & Luigi: Brothership, The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, and Hyrule Warriors are all wins for Woot, but Best Buy has the classics in Tears of the Kingdom and Super Mario Odyssey at record-low rates.

Which Nintendo Switch should you buy?

Photo of the OLED Tears of the Kingdom Switch and the LCD Switch together.

If you're going ahead with your Nintendo Switch purchase this holiday season, it's worth looking at your options. At the cheapest end of the scale we have the Switch Lite, a handheld-only device with a smaller, lower quality screen. This device isn't to be slept on, though. If you don't need to dock your console and you want to spend as little as possible, it's still an excellent way to play through Ninty's catalog for less. It's also great for kids as the all-in-one design makes it a lot more durable and the smaller size is easier for little hands.

Then we get to the two main devices. It's important to remember that the standard Nintendo Switch packs the exact same internal power as the OLED model. The only differences between the two are the slightly larger display, made with an OLED panel for better contrast and more vivid colors, a wider kickstand, and more internal storage. The battery life can also eek out a little further in the OLED model due to that more efficient display technology.

Which should you buy? In my mind, this answer is simple.

If you plan on mostly playing in docked mode, I'd get the original standard edition. You won't be using that OLED display and the performance between both models is identical when hooked up to a TV.

If you plan on mostly playing in handheld mode, you'll want that OLED screen. It's a real upgrade from the original device (I swapped mine out at launch and it was well worth it), making games pop brighter on a larger display.

Should you buy a Nintendo Switch this Black Friday?

Nintendo Switch OLED with Mario Kart racing car and game in the background

We'll start off with the basics - should you buy a new Nintendo Switch console this Black Friday? It sounds like a simple question - do you want to play Ninty's exclusive games? Do you want the hybrid handheld / docked experience? But there's a new face looming in the crowd. The Nintendo Switch 2 will likely hit the shelves next year, with current announcement rumors pitting March as the first month we'll hear about the next console. It's also now confirmed to be backwards compatible - so all the Black Friday Nintendo Switch game deals available today will be fully playable on the new system.

The Switch 2, however, is likely to be considerably more expensive than today's consoles - especially when you factor Black Friday bundles into the equation. The next device is currently rumored to land at somewhere between $400 and $500 - a leap from the standard edition's $299 MSRP. If you're not fussed about the faster processing and visual jump we'll hopefully see from the new model, I'd still recommend jumping in on this year's offers. The Nintendo Switch has never been cheaper, and its bundles have never been more valuable. Now's the best time to dive into this catalog.

However, if you're looking to upgrade from Switch Lite I'd recommend holding off. You've already got a way to play the latest games, and that cash is going to be put to better use when heading towards a console with a bigger upgrade.
