Phil Davis Joins Being Human Cast
The Sherlock/Doctor Who actor will play the "marvellously disgusting" Captain Hatch
Being Human 's back for a fifth series on BBC Three next year and Auntie has just announced that Phil Davis ( Doctor Who, Sherlock, Silk, Whitechapel, Alien 3, loads more ) will cross paths with the supernatural flatmates.
He'll play Captain Hatch, a character the Beeb describes thus: "Captain Hatch has seen it all. At least he reckons he has. And whatever it is, he doesn’t much like it. Stuck in a failing body, in a wheelchair, in a dismal seaside hotel, things aren’t exactly sunny side up. Hatch embodies the worst in humanity – he’s bitter, manipulative, obsequious and cruel. Quite the catch. But those aren’t even the worst things about the aged army captain… beneath his decrepit exterior there lies within him a dark and toxic secret that could rattle your soul with fear."
Davis says of the role: “I'm very excited to be joining the cast of Being Human for series 5. It's a great show. I'll be playing Captain Hatch. I don't want to give too much away about the character at this early stage but I can reveal that he is marvellously disgusting. I'm busy researching now.”
