Phantom Hourglass - video guide
Our video guide to Link's latest legend
Temple of the Ocean King
The fourth foray into the Temple of the Ocean King is a little tougher than before, but at least you'll get an instant warp point at the end. Try to shave as much time off your trip down to B6, because if you choose to warp there and bypass the first five floors, it saps your best time down to B6 out of the hourglass. So, if it took you seven minutes to get there and activate the warp, you'll lose seven minutes upon entering the warp.
B7 through B9 is a rather annoying puzzle involving three gems. If you get stuck, just check the video on the "Final trip" page tab. Basically, you need to get all three gems down to B9. Later on you'll have to do it again and place the gems in a different order. There's also a Wisdom Gem to be had by killing the sneaky ghosts on B9.
Goron Island
With a new chart in hand you'll want to set sail for the Southeastern Sea. There's a small boss fight before you can board, however, where you'll have to repeatedly blast a flying fish. It'll shoot a ton of crap at you, but just keep tapping and its shots will replenish your health. We had to draw a course that avoided a swarm of pirates, otherwise we'd arrive at the boss with two hearts already missing.
The first pure metal is within reach, but the Goron leader wants to test you on all kinds of random Goron knowledge. He'll ask six questions about the town, its people and various other tidbits. The first three questions seem to always occur, but the last three vary. We answered these:
How many homes are on the island? Six homes
What's this Goron starting at? A ship
How many Gorons live on the island? 14 Gorons on the island
What number question is this? It was always four for us, just pay attention
How many rupees have you won so far? Just add them up. You get 1, then 5, then two 20s. The last is 100.
What is resting in this spot? A chest
How many Gorons are outside? Seven were for us.
How many Gorons are in their homes? Seven in means seven out.
How many Goron kids on the island? Six kids

Eventually you'll be on your way to the temple. The northern maze looks like a dead end, but look closely and you'll see a design on the other side of one of the walls. For whatever reason, you can bomb that spot and continue. There's also a chest in the maze, so pick it up too.
Goron Temple
Another fairly easy outing. The jumpy statue things will curl up after a bomb to the face, at which point you can drag them to the dungeon's many switches. A bombable wall to the left (next to the other, clearly marked wall) leads down to the next floor, where you'll discover Gongoron. Now you can switch between Link and Gongoron to solve this floor (he can clear gaps by rolling) and get at the bombchus. Link can then go up a floor or down. We recommend heading up to trigger a bridge that connects this area to the dungeon's entrance, then going back down to B2.
The rest of the dungeon is all about using bombchus to solve puzzles. Pushed a switch but can't run through the spikes fast enough? Use the remote-controlled bombchu to hit the switch from afar and walk on through. Another puzzle makes you send one through while hitting a switch to lower colored gates. Just keep the critters in mind and you'll breeze through this one. Then there's this guy:
Gongoron's targeted spin attack is only effective against Dongorongo's side, so you'll want to spin in circles until you get a clear shot. Once you've tipped him over, have Link send a bombchu down his throat. Three later he'll feign death, only to try again. Dodge some more, then throw bombs into his sucking breath and clobber his glowing blue weak point. Soon, you'll have your precious Crimsonine. Talk to the Goron leader again for some money (and maybe check the northern maze again for a bombchu hole) and get ready for some random sea faring before tackling the next chapter.
