Pen To Paper: Bruckheimer's hunting monsters; Perlman gets barbaric
Evil doesn’t stand a chance…
What started as a recipe book for kids to keep monsters at bay sparked an all out studio scrap between the Hollywood heavyweights. Warner Bros and Paramount eventually lost out to Disney and Bruckheimer Films for the rights to The Monstrous Memoirs Of Mighty McFearless, a book by Ahmet Zappa. Ahmet, son of legendary musician Frank, was asked to write the tale by Random House after he turned in copy on his recipe book. The story follows a brother and sister who find out they are from a long line of monster hunters locked in a race against time to find their father, who is being held at an old castle by the most feared monster of all.
Hellboy man-mountain Ron Perlman is set to lend his scratchy tones as the lead in the upcoming Conan animated movie. The first flick featuring the barbarian will also boast the voices of CSI’s Marg Helgenberger, James (X-Men) Marsden and Luke Skywalker himself, Mark Hamill.
