It’s only three weeks till the SFX Weekender 3 (what’s that about a magic number?) but we’re not done announcing new guests just yet, and the latest is a name that will be familiar to anyone who’s attended previous Weekenders, or fans of famous mullets – Pat Sharp.
Sharp can currently be heard on Smooth Radio’s Weekend Breakfast show, so email now and make sure he doesn’t bring along “Star Trekkin’”, “Doctorin’ The TARDIS” and “The Timewarp”…
Sadly, these days the mullet has gone. But SFX website editor Dave Golder did once sell him a complete set of Thunderbirds videos (yes, videos – it was that long ago) when he worked in Our Price. And SFX production editor Russell used to eat in the same canteen at Capital Radio when Russell worked on the Chris Tarrant show. So he’s like an old mate. Sort of.
You can hear Sharp’s sharp tunes on the Friday night of the SFX Weekender 3, but if you’re lucky enough to have a Weekend pass (they’ve all sold out if you haven’t already heard) you’ll be able to hear Craig Charles’ roof-raising Funk and Soul Show on Saturday night too.
The SFX Weekender 3 takes place at Prestatyn holiday camp in North Wales on Friday 3rd February and Saturday 4th February 2012. Overnight accommodation is now sold out as well, but limited numbers of day passes are still available. Make sure you get yours before it's too late! Book now by calling 08700 11 00 34, or head to www.sfxweekender.com/tickets for more information.
