Paradise Set To Be A Sci-Fi Prison Break
Escape From Las Vegas! US network NBC orders a pilot from the creators of Arrow and Pride And Prejudice And Zombies
US network NBC has ordered a pilot for a show called Paradise , which seems to be Prison Break meets Escape From New York . It has been created by producer Greg Berlanti ( Arrow ) and writer Seth Grahame-Smith ( Pride And Prejudice And Zombies , Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter ).
According to TVLine , the show is set in late 21st century, when the city of Las Vegas has become the world’s biggest maximum-security prison, now known as Paradise. When a doctor named Matthew Turner is wrongly jailed for a murder he didn’t commit, he struggles to find a way to become the facility’s first-ever escapee.
Erm… is there an original idea anywhere in this pitch? Then again, originality has never exactly been one of Grahame-Smith’s strong points.
