Pacino, Walken and Arkin star in first image for Stand Up Guys
Ageing gangsters ahoy!
The first official photo from crime comedy Stand Up Guys has been released online, featuring Al Pacino, Christopher Walken and Alan Arkin as a trio of elderly wiseguys.
The three Academy Award winners will play three retired gangsters and long-standing friends who reunite for a wild night of boozing, gambling and womanising.
However, things inevitably get complicated, with one of the trio charged with performing a hit on one of the others. That will happen when mobsters get together for a good time. People tend to get shot.
The first image has a distinct whiff of Tarantino about it, bearing several similarities to the director's patented out-of-the-trunk camera angle. Whatever the guys are looking at here, we're guessing it's nothing good.
The film has been scripted by playwright Noah Haidle with Oscar-winning producer Fisher Stevens taking his first run at directing. Co-starring Julianna Margulies and Katheryn Winnick, the film is expected to arrive in UK cinemas at some point in 2013.
