You can customize, to some extent, the payload of each jet as you enter a mission: if you know there are going to be a ton of ground targets, load up on bombs instead of air-to-air missiles, things like that. Do the same for your wingman and you should be ready to take on the airborne bad guys. For incoming attacks, chaffs and flares are ready to deflect or distract radar-guided and heatseeking missiles.
But one thing Over G really has over Ace Combat is the addition of online play. So far, that's one area Namco's top-tier series has yet to tread, and if fighting against seven people is more exciting than the so-so single-player game, we could perhaps see an upset in the air combat arena this summer.
