The nominations for the 2016 Oscars have been announced and George Miller's Mad Max: Fury Road and Ridley Scott's The Martian (two of our best movies of the year) are up for Best Picture. But which will win? Well, The Revenant (which won at the Golden Globes) is also nominated, plus four other films so maybe neither.
Other notable nominations include Matt Damon and Leonardo DiCaprio for Best Actor, Cate Blanchett and Jennifer Lawrence for Best Actress, and George Miller and Alejandro Inarritu for Best Director.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens is also nominated for achievement in film editing, achievement in music written for motion pictures (original score), achievement in sound editing, achievement in sound mixing, and achievement in visual effects.
