Orlando Bloom says New York, I Love You...
And Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johansson are directing!
If you’re producing a movie called New York, I Love You, who would you get to direct? Woody Allen? Edward Burns, maybe? Chances are your brain probably wouldn’t venture to Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johansson.
But that’s exactly what they’re busy doing, as both actresses are making segments of the film, which, like Paris, je t’aime, will be made up of shorter, thematically linked segments. Orlando Bloom, Shia LaBeouf, Hayden Christensen and Ethan Hawke are starring in two of the chunks, while Portman will act in one of the pieces she’s not directing. And while the late Anthony Minghella had written and was lined up to direct another, but his friend Shekhar Kapur will take his place behind the megaphone.
