Oliver Stone and Shia LaBeouf reuniting for Pinkville?
Vietnam drama could be next for the pair
Wall Street 2 director and star Oliver Stone and Shia LaBeouf could be reteaming for Vietnam movie, Pinkville .
Stone was originally set to shoot the movie in 2007, and he had assembled a heck of a cast (including Bruce Willis, Woody Harrelson and Michael Pitt), before the Writer's Guild strike put an end to his plans.
Speaking on the commentary track for the Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps Blu-ray, Stone mentions that he and LaBeouf have considering reuniting for another stab at the movie.
Pinkville deals with the infamous My Lai massacre of March 1968. Hundreds of Vietnamese civilians, including many women, children and elderly people, were murdered by a US Army unit.
LaBeouf reportedly has a personal interest in the project as his father served as a helicopter pilot in Vietnam.
The Transformers actor is likely to take on the role of Hugh Thompson, a helicopter pilot who helped stop the massacre in the face of adversity.
The part was originally earmarked for Channing Tatum when the movie was set to shoot in 2007.
Stone hasn't produced any certified cinematic dynamite for quite some time, and the nature of this project sounds like it could be the perfect source for his unique brand of vitriol.
Could Pinkville see the director turn in another movie of Platoon or Born on the Fourth of July quality?
