Official synopsis unveiled for Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice
Next year marks the arrival of one of the most-anticipated superhero movies on the cinema calendar. The second chapter in Warner Bros/DC’s cinematic universe - Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice - promises a gigantic showdown between its two titular heroes, and based on the first teaser trailer the post-Man Of Steel cultural climate could be to blame.
And while that brief preview tuned us in to director Zack Snyder’s overall style for the movie, it kept the plot details to a minimum. Now thanks to the folks at Collider, who are currently at the Licensing Expo in Las Vegas, we’ve been granted the first official synopsis for the movie:
“Fearing the actions of a god-like super hero left unchecked, Gotham City’s own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis’s most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it’s ever known before. “
While we don’t yet know who that ‘new threat’ is - Lex Luthor? - the union of Batman and Superman to conquer this foe is what the world has been waiting for. But where does Wonder Woman fit in?....
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice opens on March 26, 2016.
