Ocarina and Mario Kart set for Virtual Console

Friday 10 November 2006
19 new retro titles have been lined up to appear on Wii's Virtual Console throughout 2007. The list, including The Ocarina of Time, Mario Kart 64 and Star Fox 64, has emerged from the US games rating board, the ESRB.

So while Nintendo itself is yet to confirm the when and where of their release, we know for sure that all of these titles are due to be available on Wii at some point, along with the31 titles confirmed last week.

Each game is priced according to its console of origin, so you'll pay £3 for a NES game, £4 for a Turbografx game, £5 for SNES and Mega Drive games and £7 for an N64 game. Which means that you'll be able to get The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time and Duck Hunt for just £10. Sounds like a pretty good deal to us.

While Nintendo is yet to confirm when we'll get to play these titles, we have discovered that, despite a whole host of N64 titles being announced, the Virtual Console will not work with force feedback controllers. So while the original machine pioneered vibrations with the Rumble Pak, you won't be able to feel the shakes through your fingers with Wii.

We'll have release dates and more information just as soon as we get it but, until then, here's the full list:
