November 8 Xbox One release date rumoured

Xbox One could be released on November 8 in the US, exactly one week before PS4 is due to hit store shelves. That’s according to an email supposedly showing a schedule of planned midnight launches at Walmart, which has Xbox One’s release date pencilled in but listed as yet to be confirmed. It was forwarded to Kotaku by a source said to work for a marketing company that handles signage and product placement for Walmart.

Microsoft said earlier this month that Xbox One will launch in 13 of 21 previously announced markets this November. The eight delayed regions - Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Netherlands, Norway, Russia, Sweden, and Switzerland - will host their own Xbox One launches as soon as possible in 2014. Xbox One will be priced at £429 / $499 / €499 and will have 23 launch games. Every Xbox One pre-ordered in Europe will come bundled with a free copy of FIFA 14.

Last week, we suggested the PS4's November 15 release date (November 29 in Europe) is Sony's first big next-gen mistake, and one that could come back to bite the company if Microsoft gets its console to market first. PS4 will be available in 32 countries this holiday, priced at £349 / €399 / $399.
