There will be no Disney 4.0 this year, bucking a trend from the House of Mouse to release a new version of their toys-to-life series annually. That doesn't mean there won't be new content though; a new playset, dubbed "Marvel Battlegrounds," will bring four-player brawling to Disney Infinity 3.0 on March 15.
The trailer and description makes Battlegrounds seem like a combination of the upcoming filmCaptain America: Civil War mixed with the classic Dreamcast fighting game, Power Stone. The playset even comes with a new Captain America figure, wearing a costume inspired by Chris Evans' look in Civil War. Check it out.
Battlegrounds will feature 12 levels and supports all previous Marvel Disney Infinity figures, as well as some upcoming ones. Ant-Man, Vision, and Black Panther will be available at the same time as Battlegrounds, as will the formerly Vita-exclusive Black Suit Spider-Man. You could start taking bets on who the victors will be now, or you could be like me and just start clearing shelf space so you can proudly display your new toys. Because damn, those figures look good.
