No More Heroes HD remake scraps Xbox 360, becomes PS3 exclusive

The anticipated remake of Wii critical-darling No More Heroeswas initially planned to be available on the Xbox 360 and PS3, but now it seems like it'll just be made for Sony's console, complete with PlayStation Move support.

Fundamentally, No More Heroes: Heroes' Paradise will be identical to the original No More Heroes Wii game. That is, the story and all major gameplay elements are going to remain unchanged.

However, there will be some changes. First, of course, is the completely redone visual presentation. All of the game's graphics have been upgraded into full HD and video rendering has been optimized for the PS3's more powerful hardware.

Additionally, two new modes will be added. Rebout Mode will let players go back to any of the game's previous head-to-head battles and replay them, while Viewer Mode opens up all cutscenes to allow users to view them on-demand.

Publisher Konami will likely be ensuring some other cosmetic or minor functional changes throughout the game based on feedback from the Wii version, but for the most part, this is a game for those who didn't play the original on the Wii, or huge fans who want to re-experience everything in HD. We've got high hopes for the game's success on the PS3.

Konami didn't give any indication as to why the Xbox 360 version is now excluded, but it could have something to do with the game being easier to translateto Move.Sony's motion wands willmake it possible to have roughly thesameWii motion control experience -Kinect's hand-waving may have been more difficult to match up.

However, since the game was in development before Move was released, it's also fully functional with regular PS3 controls. Players will have the option of which control scheme they want to use.
