Nintendo TVii launches December 20 in N. America

Nintendo TVii will launch tomorrow in North America, Nintendo announced today. The all-in-one service which combines television subscriptions and video streaming services into one GamePad accessible interface was delayed from the console's November 18 launch for further development.

TVii integrates cable or satellite services along with separate streaming subscriptions--Nintendo used combining content from a Comcast cable subscription and Hulu Plus membership as an example. Amazon Instant Video is also available, and Netflix and TiVo service integration are expected in early 2013 in the U.S.

One of the service's main draws is allowing users to access all their content based on what they want to watch, rather than how and where they they want to watch it. Users can also share live status updates on MiiVerse linked to the content or check out external information with the GamePad.

If you're a Wii U owner, do you expect to get much use out of this feature?

I got a BA in journalism from Central Michigan University - though the best education I received there was from CM Life, its student-run newspaper. Long before that, I started pursuing my degree in video games by bugging my older brother to let me play Zelda on the Super Nintendo. I've previously been a news intern for GameSpot, a news writer for CVG, and now I'm a staff writer here at GamesRadar.
