Nintendo conference news bomb!
Super Smash Bros delayed, Monster Hunter hits Wii
Oct 10, 2007
While we were all sleeping, tucked up in bed and dreaming of Portal, Team Fortress 2 and Half-Life 2: Episode Two (which have just been unlocked on Steam, didn't you know!?) Nintendo was plotting out its direction for the coming months. Which involves more than a few surprises...
First, and most disappointingly, is the news that Super Smash Bros Brawl has been delayed. Japanese gamers will see Mario and co bashing each other about in January next year, but who knows when it'll reach the UK? Hopefully March? To soften the blow, however, we've rounded up some images showing a new challenger - Sonic The Hedgehog! Oh, and a shot of Kirby cooking, because we though it looked hilariously funny.
In addition, Nintendo has revealed that Brawl will feature online co-op, while declining to dish the details on how it'll actually work. Though, it's not that difficult to figure out, really, is it?
But on with the news blast. Here's a handy summary of all the info released at Nintendo's autumn conference:
- Mario Kart Wii comes free with the Wii Steering Wheel thingy, and - get this - will include motorbikes!
- Monster Hunter 3 has been announced for Wii, no furtherdetails given
- Super Mario Stadium Baseball announced for Wii
- Fire Emblem DS announced for, yes, Nintendo DS
- New WiiWare titles, including: Doctor Mario Wii (huzzah!), Pokemon Farm, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Young King and the Promised Land and Bomberman
- Pokemon Farm will link with DS, enabling you to raise Diamond or Pearl pokemon in a rural, farm environment on Wii
- Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles will provide country building gameplay, and cost 1500 points
- New channel announced: DS Demo Channel, turning Wii into a download station for DS. But no details on what you'll be downloading, exactly
- Check Mii Out channel coming to Japan in November, offering Mii-comparisons
- Everybody Votes Channel will be updated allowing voting on Wii games
