If you think there haven't been a lot of big Wii games lately, it's not your imagination. Nintendo is admitting it had to divert some focus away from the Wii as it prepared for the anticipated launches of the 3DS and the latest round of DS Pokemon games.
Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime was refreshingly honest in a recent interview, saying, "Candidly, we've pushed out some Wii launches so that we can focus on our handheld business. We're already juggling two big balls. To add a third would be a little bit challenging."
Fils-Aime implied the Wii would be back in the limelight soon enough, saying, "We're waiting to space things out and let Pokémon Black and Pokémon White and Nintendo 3DS live and breath out there. But there's content coming."
He said to expect more details in the next three months, ahead of E3, "and then certainly at E3 we'll be sharing more news."
Pokemon Black and White were just released in the US, while the 3DS is coming out in just a short 19 days, on Sunday, March 27. As for Wii, the only major title on the way is The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, which is stillhasnebulous "2011"release.
