Nier: Automata is a weird, weird game. Its upcoming DLC might be even weirder. Dubbed "3C3C1D119440927," the upcoming add-on will give players a series of new challenges to complete, costumes to wear, gear to equip, even hair dye so you can change heroes 2B, 9S, and A2's white locks to something a bit more colorful.
But the best addition has to be a boss fight which lets you take on Square Enix CEO Yosuke Matsuda and Platinum Games CEO Kenichi Sato:
If you played the first Nier, you might also recognize the costumes that the DLC adds. 2B gets a "Revealing Outfit" based on what Kaine wears in that game, while 9S and A2 get costumes based on what the protagonist of the first game wore.
If you look up screenshots of the first game and fail to see a resemblance, that's because in a unique approach to localization, the hero of the original Nier was a middle-aged man in the West, and a younger, spikey-haired boy in Japan. However, it looks like Nier: Automata will only give players costumes based on the Japanese version.
There's no price or release date for 3C3C1D119440927 just yet. Unless the answer is hidden in the title - judging by the strange tricks this game pulls, I wouldn't be surprised.
If you've already beaten Nier: Automata, let's talk about the true ending. If you're just starting, here are some tips to help you out.
