A true-life tale with Charlize Theron in The Danish Girl
Nicole Kidman has signed on to play the world’s first post-op transsexual, a Danish artist married to fellow paint-dauber Charlize Theron in real-life drama The Danish Girl.
Clearly, a false nose wasn’t quite far enough on the thesping scale – Nicole Kidman is going all out in new, real-life drama The Danish Girl.
The Hollywood Reporter has the story that she’s agreed to star in and produce the film, which will see her snag the lead alongside Charlize Theron.
Kidman and Theron will play Einar and Greta Wagner, a husband-and-wife art team who discover that portraits of Einar dressing up as a woman have become a huge success.
World’s first
But Einer’s fascination with his female side took a turn when he decided to undergo an operation in 1931 that saw him become a her in the world’s first sex change procedure.
The move shocked the world and threatened the pair’s love.
Anand Tucker is on board to direct the movie, but there’s no word yet when it’ll start shooting.
