Power to the truth! Virtua Fighter 5: one glimpse and you'll be convinced
Tournament of masters
In the US, Virtua Fighter is just starting to take off. Why not read our latest Virtua Fighter 5 previewto find out what the big deal is? The game's already out in Japanese arcades, so last weekend Sega held the Otenami Haiken 5 tournament, which attracted the best players in Japan. If you want to see why we go crazy over this game, you need to look no further overthis YouTube video. The action starts at 3:26 (go ahead and fast-forward) and when it does, this best-of-five match is super-tense. From the endless counters to the slick combos, this is one video that sums up why VF5 is going to rock your face next year.
One, one, one, one
By now you've seen thatcreepy baby doll ad(and hopefully it didn't turn you off of the PS3 altogether.) But ever wonder what sort of TV spots they're running in Japan? They can't be as bad, can they? Well, they don't show any more gameplay - in fact, they don't show any - but at least they aren't freaky. Three of the four commercials, entitled "Chimney," "Outlet," and "Fork" all center around the Japanese release date, 11/11. The last, called "Sense," depicts a crowd of passers-by realizing the PS3 exists and suddenly unable to resist it. The narrator intones "Please sense the PS3," while a little kid jumps up and down and shouts "I wanna see it!" over and over. Let's hope the 2007 ads actually show off the games.

It's that time again - Next Generation has uploadedits weekly podcast, and this time the team is joined by Microsoft staffer Aaron Greenberg. Fresh off of the amazing reviews ofGears of War, the discussion takes that in, as well as that whole "buying TV and movies off of Xbox Live" thing that MS announced earlier in the week. That's hardly all, so you might as well head over tothe siteand download it if you want to know the rest.
