A reminder
Yeah, we appreciate your attention. We know that the big story today is the Nintendo Wii, so we're not going to bog you down with lots of fluff. Hell, there simply isn't much else to talk about, truth told. Microsoft sent out an embarrassing press release that we deleted without really reading - that may as well have been titled "Remember us! We're here!" Like we'd forget the 360 right as it starts to rock. Why attention whore on Nintendo's big day?

Affordable adventures on the Sword Coast
The guys behind Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion should take note: instead of giving gamers tiny additional adventures on a slow, expensive drip, Neverwinter Nights dungeon masters BioWare have a 20-hour quest in store for just $11.99. Available today via download for the PC, Neverwinter Nights: Wyvern Crown is a "premium module" - pretty much a fancy name for an expansion pack - for level six or seven characters that features new art, creatures and a massive new world to explore. A new prestige class will become available as well - the Purple Dragon Knight - which sounds like the perfect way to take advantage of the module's introduction of riding horses and jousting tournaments. Clank, clank, boom.
Now, you have no excuse for skipping Psychonauts
Half-Life creators Valve have struck a deal with Majesco, enabling gamers to play vampiric actioner BloodRayne 1 & 2 and epic sci-fi adventure Advent Rising via the direct download serviceSteam. Beginning in October, the critically acclaimed Psychonauts will be also become available through the service. Even though the entire GamesRadar office becomes a gospel choir of nodding heads, raised hands and loud praise for Tim Schafer's opus whenever it is mentioned; it's a platformer, best reserved for gamepads - so make sure you equip yourself before diving in.
Arcades aren't dead
If the Wii doesn't get your blood pumping, how about going in pretty much the opposite direction?Insert Credit, the best little so-hardcore-it-hurts game site on the net, has posted up the first news to come out of the Japanese AM Show - that's an arcade show, where companies show off their new games. Yep, they still do arcade games over there, and for fans of 2D shooters and fighters, there's plenty of interesting tidbits to pick at. Maybe the most interesting thing is to see that arcade hardware is keeping up with home technology: HD gaming is all the rage. OutRun 2, Guilty Gear and more get new editions as well. We link to Next Generation a lot. We're published by the same company, after all. But we like the site, too - it may be full of hardcore industry-focused news that we don't give a rat's ass about (those stories about executives and shareholders we never read) but it's also a great resource for stuff that really matters to gamers, too.
