New Xbox One bundle includes Halo: Master Chief Collection

If you're a Halo fan who was swayed to PS4, or maybe just hasn't seen enough reason to buy any new-gen console, Microsoft has a new package that may win you back. The Xbox One Halo: The Master Chief Collection bundle is exactly what it sounds, packing the system together with the ample offerings of Halo's most comprehensive collection to date.

The bundle will be sold in the US for $349, and in other "select markets". It comes with a download code for The Master Chief Collection, meaning you'll get started with four games worth of material to play through - Halo: Anniversary Edition, Halo 2: Anniversary Edition, Halo 3, and Halo 4. It also comes with the Halo: Nightfall live-action series, which sets the stage for Halo 5: Guardians.

Maybe you feel a bit silly buying a new console to play old games. That's… a fair point. But those two Anniversary Editions are pretty nice, and you won't find the updated version of Halo 2 anywhere else. Plus, now that The Master Chief collection's bizarrely problematic online matchmaking appears to have been sorted out, there's no better time to head online for some cross-game-playlist action.

Microsoft says the bundle will release this month, so keep an eye on your retailer of choice until then.
