New villain for Kick-Ass 2

Kick-Ass 2 seems to be setting the scene for Christopher Mintz-Plasse to take over main villain duties as the embittered Red Mist, but now it appears he'll have company, with the production putting out a casting call for the role of Mother Russia.

Mother Russia is a physically imposing bodyguard to Red Mist in the comic books, and according to the official callout procured by Moviehole , it sounds as though physical attributes will be paramount in casting this one.

“Classic Villain," begins the description. "An ex-KBG officer who is now being paid by the week by Chris to fight in his group — she is easily the most skilled and just a ruthless killer in general. Described as a ‘roided-out female bodybuilder, she needs to be extremely physically imposing and muscular, though still come across as feminine. As tall as possible (6ft and over only). Indicate height on submission.”

Sounds like a bit of an ask to us, although presumably the height issue could be ironed out with a bit of perspective trickery, meaning all that would be required would be an imposing, athletic physique.

Meanwhile, Mintz-Plasse has been discussing his character's transformation, and has revealed his relief at the fact some of his more lurid excesses haven't made it into the script.

"It’s crazy!" he gushed at Comic-Con . "It’s unbelievable. I’m the Motherfucker now, in this one. It’s incredible! There was one moment in the comic, where the Motherfucker rapes someone, but I don’t think we’re doing that. We’re doing a different aspect of it, and it’s a really funny version of it, but there’s no rape. I’m really happy about that."

Kick-Ass 2 has yet to receive an official release date, but is set to begin shooting this September ahead of a likely 2013 release.
