New trailer for The Watch
Ben Stiller goes alien hunting
The Watch (formerly known as Neighbourhood Watch , for those dozing at the back) has released a new trailer in which Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, Jonah Hill and Richard Ayoade team up to fight off a posse of marauding aliens.
Convening at the house of Stiller’s local busybody, the gang all have their own reasons for joining his newly-formed neighbourhood watch initiative (Ayoade’s being the most amusing), but it isn’t long before they’re called into some serious action after running over what appears to be an extra-terrestrial.
Convinced that they’ve stumbled upon an alien invasion, the boys tool up with some heavy-duty weaponry (courtesy of Hill’s borderline sociopath) and prepare to defend their neighbourhood with all they’ve got.

Judging by the splatter on show here, it seems as though there will be plenty of grisly alien-squishing action to go with the torrent of one-liners we saw in the earlier red-band trailer . And while Stiller, Vaughn and Hill all look to be on their game, we’ve a sneaking suspicion that Total Film columnist Ayoade may end up stealing this one from under their noses...
The Watch opens in the UK on 29 August 2012. If nothing else, it already promises to be a lot funnier than Men In Black 3 .
