New teaser for Pixar's Brave

Brave has released a new teaser online, in which Pixar promotes its latest offering via the medium of a faux advert for a new product, known as "Witch's Magical Mystery Brew".

"You try pouting," begins the voiceover, accompanied by footage of Kelly Macdonald's feisty Princess Merida. "You try arguing. But you still have the same old problems. Next time, don't just wish your problems away… witch them away!"

Okay, so we've heard better slogans in the past, but it's still a neat way of marketing the film. The plot sees Merida travel to a mysterious wise woman you see, bringing all manner of trouble upon her kingdom after drinking one of her brews.

Check out the new teaser, below…

Sensibly, Pixar have managed to restrict the footage they've revealed to the events leading up to Merida's visit to the witch, meaning the real meat of her quest will remain unspoiled until the film's release date. It's a technique Prometheus could have done with a bit more of, if you ask us…

Co-starring Emma Thompson, Billy Connolly, Kevin McKidd and Julie Walters, Brave will open in the UK on 17 August 2012. We'll be keeping our fingers crossed for another instalment of vintage Pixar magic...
