New release dates for Point Break remake and Rocky spin-off
Warner Bros has announced a pair of release date changes for two of its more eyecatching properties, with Rocky spin-off Creed, and the Point Break remake both moving into the 2015 Christmas season…
Creed will now open on 25 November 2015, an impressive turnaround given that cameras are still rolling on the project. Meanwhile, Point Break has moved from its summer slot, and will now open on Christmas Day.
Creed will feature Michael B. Jordan as the son of legendary boxer Apollo Creed, who is now an aspiring fighter himself, learning the ropes under the tutelage of Sly Stallone’s Rocky Balboa.
Meanwhile, Ericson Core’s Point Break update will apparently broaden the surf / crime storyline to include a whole host of new extreme sports, with Luke Bracey and Edgar Ramirez heading up the cast.
A pair of guilty pleasures, or a misguided attempt to meddle where best left alone? We’ll find out for sure come winter-time…
