The Dark Knight Rises has debuted a new poster online, which takes the design aesthetic of the original teaser poster and adds a healthy dose of flame to the mix.
“A fire will rise” warns the new tagline, and sure enough, there’s plenty of flaming wreckage to complement Gotham’s already crumbling skyline.
Meanwhile, Batman stands helplessly in the foreground, shoulders bowed and eyes cast down to the ground. Never has the secondary tagline, “the legend ends”, looked more appropriate. Has the Bat really been broken?
It’s very reminiscent of the poster for The Dark Knight , which also used the fire motif to good effect. Though while the Joker just wanted to see Gotham burn, Bane seems hell bent on reducing it to a heap of smouldering rubble…
