New poster for Oz: The Great And Powerful features flying monkeys
Fly, my pretties!
Oz: The Great And Powerful has released another new poster, this time featuring our first glimpse of one of the terrifying flying monkeys.
And if you thought the original depiction of the winged simians was terrifying enough, you probably won’t want to take a look at this new breed, which looks much, much nastier.
There is at least a cuddlier one in the form of Finlay (Zach Braff), a friendly little fellow who ends up knocking about with James Franco’s would-be wizard.
The new film sees Franco play a struggling magician who finds his dreams of universal acclaim answered by a violent tornado, which blows him and his hot air balloon into the magical land of Oz.
Upon arrival, he is greeted as a long-prophesised sorcerer by all except a trio of suspicious witches (Mila Kunis, Rachel Weisz and Michelle Williams), who soon set about attempting to expose his deception.
Directed by Sam Raimi and co-starring Tony Cox and Joey King, Oz: The Great And Powerful opens in the UK on 8 March 2013. You can check out the full poster below…
