New Lego sets October 2024: Every kit coming out this month

Lego Super Mario & Yoshi, Battle Bus, Jabba's Sail Barge, and Magic of Disney sets with a GamesRadar+ in the middle

After a fairly quiet September, we're in for another deluge of new Lego sets this October. On top of three brand-new ranges, dozens of kits are launching too.

Top billing undoubtedly goes to Fortnite thanks to its crowd-pleasing designs (these are going to fly off shelves, surely?), but that isn't to say everything else is worth glossing over. Star Wars has some excellent new Lego sets of its own that make me excited about what the future could hold, while the addition to Super Mario is in with a chance of being amongst the best Lego sets.

Want to take a look for yourself? No problem - I've rounded up all of the new Lego sets available in October 2024, complete with details from pricing to pieces. Hopefully we'll still have some money left over for them; the Prime Day Lego deals are also kicking off this month, and they should have some tasty bargains for us.

This month's update is huge, but doesn't include all ranges. You can skip ahead to the line that interests you the most by clicking the links below. You can also take a look at previous releases available further down the page.

Here's every range included in October's drop, listed alphabetically:

New Lego Art sets

Lego Mona Lisa painting hung on a green wall

Things kick off this month with a new, striking addition to the Art range - a recreation of the Mona Lisa. This can actually be hung on your wall, so anyone wanting to jazz up their home office or living room need look no further.

I saw this set in person before it was revealed and came away impressed. It does a lot with very little, and doesn't go overboard on detail to confuse the image; it's elegant and refined.

Available October 1, 2024

New Lego Batman sets

Excuse me while I hum "na na na na na na na na..." over and over, much to the annoyance of everyone in the 12DOVE office.

This spin on the Adam West Batmobile is a thing of beauty, and oddly enough, its oh-so '60s curves translate perfectly to Lego. You get a teeny Adam West Batman minifigure as well, complete with a gargoyle perch we're seeing more often from the DC range at the moment.

New Lego Botanical Collection sets

Lego Wreath and Poinsettia laid out on the wall and a table respectively

It's a modest but good haul from the Botanical Collection this month. Alongside a Christmas wreath to put on your door that'll never go off, there's also a potted poinsettia plant on offer too. It always bothers me that Lego flowers so rarely come with a vase or anything to put them in, so that addition here is most welcome.

New Lego BrickHeadz sets

October is a quiet month for BrickHeadz; there's only this one kit hitting shelves. Recreating both Wednesday and her roommate Enid in that recognizably blocky style, it's ideal if you're looking for an easy gift.

New Lego Fortnite sets

Lego Battle Bus being played with in a home setting, with the set and minifigures on a table

All aboard the Battle Bus! This is the headline-grabbing release for October, and I don't know how it took so long to become a thing. Seriously, I feel like mixing Lego and Fortnite together is an excuse for both companies to print money; there is absolutely no way that these new Lego sets aren't wildly popular. If there's a Fortnite-obsessed gamer in your life, grab a couple of these as gifts now before they inevitably sell out.

So far as my favorite goes, it has to be the Battle Bus. Few things are more recognizable in Fortnite, and this kit wisely adds lots of the most popular character skins for good measure. If you can only pick up one set, I'd recommend this beauty as a result.

Still, I have a real soft spot for the Supply Llama as well. Besides being more affordable, it nails that loveably derpy look. It'd be a great addition to any gaming setup too, because it's not massive and is as much of a display item as it is a playset.

New Lego Icons sets

Lego Christmas Village set up on wooden shelves

Well, isn't this just delightful? I'm a sucker for all things Christmas as is, so having Lego sets specifically designed as a Christmas Village display is absolutely my jam.

Santa's Post Office is a great addition to the existing range. Besides screaming 'festive' thanks to its inclusion of snow aplenty, Xmas trees, holly, and elves, it's the sort of kit that has lots of hidden corners. That 'doll house' approach is something I'm always a fan of, because it means the set will still delight you once it's built.

New Lego Ideas sets

Lego Magic of Disney set on a blue table alongside a pot plant and paintbrushes

I'm a massive Disney fan (from movies to parks), so of course I'm in love with this new set. Cleverly combining some of the company's most beloved films around Sorcerer Mickey, it's a stylish way of celebrating the House of Mouse that I'd say avoids being garish or cluttered.

Yes, I would have liked to see some of my personal favorites added to the mix, but I suppose Lego had to draw the line somewhere.

New Lego Minecraft sets

Lego Baby Pig's Birthday Celebration figures on a table, in a line

It's a light month in terms of Minecraft; there's only one set coming out. Fortunately, what we're getting is cute as a damn button. Who is Baby Pig and why are they getting a birthday cake and party with the weirdest line-up you could imagine? No idea, but it's too adorable for me to care.

I'd just like to know why an explosive Creeper is included. Perhaps they're taking 'blowing out the candles' a bit too far?

New Lego Sonic the Hedgehog sets

Lego Shadow the Hedgehog bust on a sideboard

OK, listen. I keep going back and forth on whether I like this or not. Is it cool, or is it living in uncanny valley territory?

On the one hand, it does manage to capture Shadow's likeness and edgy attitude. On the other, it looks like a big game hunter's trophy. I could get behind the Star Wars helmet range because those are items you would find on display. But a character's actual head? Eesh.

No matter what, I suspect we'll get more of these if this is a success.

New Lego Star Wars sets

Lego Jabba's Sail Barge set and minifigures laid out on a table

It's always worth paying attention when new Star Wars sets drop, and October is no different. Jabba's Sail Barge has been given the Ultimate Collector Series treatment with oodles of detail and a model big enough to actually sail on, and it comes with an amazing free gift - Luke Skywalker's lightsaber hilt. While this is only available when purchased with the Barge for now, the fact it has a price suggests it'll get a separate release later.

I'd be very happy with that. Much like the helmets series, lightsaber hilts could make a brilliant line of kits.

New Lego Super Mario sets

Lego Super Mario World set on a table in a home setting, with a chair and stairs in the background

Following on from the wealth of kits we got recently, Super Mario only has one new Lego set in October. It's a doozy, though. This recreates the plumber as he appeared in Super Mario World on the SNES, complete with a trusty Yoshi mount.

While it'd be cool enough already thanks to that pixellated look, it's even more impressive thanks to moveable parts. Turn the crank and Yoshi will 'run' along before shooting out his tongue, just like in the video game.

New Lego Wednesday sets

Lego Wednesday Addams Figure on a metallic shelf, next to a spool of string

Here's our second new range of the month - Wednesday. Based on the Netflix show of the same name, it uses the Lego Friends format for a very sweet (but goth as heck, obviously) playset.

There's also a diorama-style figure that seems as if it's designed to be more of a display piece. I love this design; it distills the show's vibe into one small plinth, and the Wednesday figure itself is much more expressive than the BrickHeadz equivalent.

New Lego Wicked sets

Lego Welcome to Emerald City set and minifigures on a table

The third and final new range we got this month is based on Wicked, the upcoming movie. Much like Wednesday, these have been modelled after the Lego Friends line.

With the exception of the Elphaba & Glinda Figures, anyway. These make for a nice display piece that's eye-catching and full of personality without being overcrowded. I like the 'Welcome to Emerald City' playset a lot, but these figures are probably my favorite of the bunch.

New Lego sets: September 2024

The Lego Nightmare Before Christmas kit in parts, on a wooden table

As is often the way, September was a slower month for new Lego sets following the avalanche we got in August. Still, there was plenty of good cheer to go around because 2024's advent calendars were launched. Disney, Friends, City, Marvel, Star Wars, and Harry Potter all got one this year.

The headline acts had to be The Legend of Zelda's Great Deku Tree (which can be made into the version from Ocarina of Time or Breath of the Wild, depending on your preference) and my personal favorite, The Nightmare Before Christmas. Both kits really do their inspirations justice, and will definitely be going on some Christmas lists before the year is out.

New Lego sets: August 2024

Lego The Dark Falcon and minifigures on a wooden surface

Although plenty of other models came out (this may have been the biggest drop of the year so far), it was a particularly big month for new Lego Star Wars kits. In fact, I counted eight of varying size and complexity hitting shelves in August. It was a real mix of eras, too; heading the charge was the 'Rebuild the Galaxy' project where iconic vehicles are given a shakeup (e.g. an 'evil' Millennium Falcon), followed by a massive C-3PO to go with the R2-D2 from a few months back.

Marvel also received reinforcements this month. Another take on the first Guardians of the Galaxy ship, the Milano, was joined by an "Avengers Assemble" moment pulled straight from Age of Ultron.

Super Mario got new starter kits too, not to mention a whole bunch of extra courses to play with. No matter whether you were a young master builder looking for more adventures to make or a long-time fan of the intrepid plumber, August was your month.

However, the 'Jaws' set stood out even more. This Ideas model recreates the movie finale in all its glory, and it's incredibly true to the film while still injecting some of that Lego whimsy.

Here's a full breakdown of what hit shelves in August 2024.

New Lego sets: July 2024

Lego Bumblebee set on a wooden shelf, alongside plants and books

Following a busy June, Lego slowed down in July. By my count, there were only six new Lego sets hitting shelves across three ranges - Icons, Disney, and BrickHeadz.

The most notable of these was Bumblebee, the Transformer. Considering how well Lego Optimus Prime was received a year ago, it was only a matter of time until more Robots in Disguise joined the roster. Much like its predecessor, this kit recreates the Autobot as he appeared in the 1980s cartoon... but can also 'transform' into his vehicle form, a VW Beetle, without needing to be disassembled. It's a neat party trick.

New Lego sets: June 2024

Lego Barad-dur as seen from the back, stood on a side-table

After a few quieter months, June sees an explosion of new Lego sets. Dozens hit the shelves across a variety of ranges this month, and everything from Harry Potter to Disney got fresh kits. Minecraft alone received six.

Still, the one set to rule them all (sorry) was Barad-dûr. This enormous follow-up to Lego Rivendell wasn't playing; it boasted over 5,400 pieces, was 32.5 inches high, and came with an army of 10 minifigures. Considering the furore surrounding its reveal, I'm hopeful that we'll get plenty more Lord of the Rings Lego kits going forward. Lego Minas Tirith, anyone?

Lego TIE Interceptor set

Although there were plenty of additions to the 2024 'Space' theme in May, it was Star Wars that enjoyed the best new Lego sets - if you ask me, anyway. Chief amongst these was the Ultimate Collector Series TIE Interceptor, which recreates one of the first UCS kits from two decades ago. The podrace diorama comes in close second for me, though; like the Death Star Trench Run before it, it pulls off that sense of speed and dynamism perfectly.

New Lego sets: April 2024

The Lego D&D set and minifigures laid out on a wooden table strewn with dice

After the deluge of new Lego sets we got in March, April was more subdued. Fortunately, the month's standout kit made up for it - Lego D&D. This enormous tribute to Dungeons & Dragons featured its own adventure and more Easter eggs than any fan would know what to do with. I actually caught up with those behind the project to find out how it was done, if you're curious.

New Lego sets: March 2024

March was a big month for new Lego sets. Alongside the launch of the highly-anticipated Animal Crossing range, we got an avalanche of fresh Star Wars, Harry Potter, Disney, Ninjago, Speed Champions, and Technic kits. Standouts were the Talking Sorting Hat and a brand-new, more affordable Millennium Falcon. This latter kit fills a niche that's gone untapped for way too long, so I expect it to fly off the shelves.
