New Legend of Zelda being developed for 3DS
Interview with Zelda creators hints to the series’ future
Nobody would think that Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword would be the final Zelda game, we just weren’t sure what exactly the Zelda development team was working on until now. Today an interview with Zelda mastermind Eiji Aonuma revealed that the team is already working on a new Zelda for the 3DS.
Above: Sort of like this, but not 15 years old
According to a translation of the Portuguese interview by Eurogamer, the team is “already preparing a new game, a game in the series for the Nintendo 3DS, but don't think that it is a direct sequel to the Zelda titles released on DS… We are talking about a new game, but it takes much of what has been done on previous handhelds." Does that mean another game in the style of touch controlled Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks, or will it be more directly controlled like Ocarina 3D?
Recently our own Carolyn Gudmundson got a chance to interview Mr Aonuma as well as Nintendo music mastermind Koji Kondo and they also had some interesting info to share. Keep your eye out for it next week.
