New image for Resident Evil: Retribution

Resident Evil: Retribution has released a new image in the latest edition of Entertainment Weekly , via ShockTillYouDrop , in which Milla Jovovich's heroine, Alice, puts some hurt on a member of the infected.

While the promotional material has been fairly light on T-Virus sufferers so far, it's nice to finally get to see Alice back to what she does best: kicking seven shades out of a blood-spattered, dead-eyed shambler.

The new film begins with Alice banged up within one of Umbrella's most secure operations facilities. Naturally, it doesn't stand much chance of holding her, and before you can say "zombie", she's on the loose once more.

However, the free world is in a worse state than ever before, the T-Virus having laid waste to the majority of the planet's human population. Can Alice track down those responsible for the outbreak in time to save the last remaining survivors? She won't if they want to milk another film out of the franchise…

Directed by Paul W.S. Anderson (of course), and featuring the return of a few key cast members who seemingly perished earlier in the franchise (Michelle Rodriguez just will not stay down), Resident Evil: Retribution opens in the UK on 28 September 2012. Mmm, brains...
